On Good Friday, Musica Spei and Anne Maria Lim, St. Anne’s Director of Music, will present a meditative concert featuring sacred Renaissance choral works as well as pieces for solo organ and solo voice with organ accompaniment.
Featured choral works include music by Lassus, Victoria and Gesualdo, as well as a setting of the Lamentations of Jeremiah by little known Portuguese composer Joao Rebelo. Selections from J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion are among works to be presented by Ms. Lim and soloists from the St. Anne choir. Ms. Lim will also present pieces for solo organ. The concert will close with a setting of the traditional Good Friday text "Tenebrae Factae Sunt".
