Joy

The Lyric Chorale will present two spring concerts; the first Saturday, April 30,
7:30 pm, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1460 Ridge Road, Webster, and the
second on Sunday, May 1, 2:30 pm, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft
Blvd.,

The Saturday concert will celebrate the life of long-time friend and benefactor,

Dorothy K. Miller. Dorothy not only supported the Lyric Chorale financially, but

was an exuberant audience member in the front row of every concert. Her

wonderful presence was the inspiration for the concert title – “Joy!” Music being

performed includes Mozart’s Solemn Vespers, Beethoven’s Hallelujah, traditional

Spirituals, and gospel music by Paul Halley – all favorites of Dorothy.

The Sunday concert will not include the complete Mozart Solemn Vespers.

Instead, we will present solos by chorus members, pianist Ivanka Driankova, and a

cappella pieces for small chamber choir.

Featured on the Gospel pieces will be vocalist Michelle Amato. Amato has toured

and recorded with Quincy Jones, Liza Minnelli, Michael McDonald, Sandi Patty,

and Yanni. She also has been a featured soloist for Cirque du Soleil in Orlando.

She teaches on the jazz faculty at University of North Florida.

There will be no charge for these concerts, but donations are encouraged and

much appreciated.
