FREE CONCERT - donations appreciated and welcome

The Genesee Valley Orchestra and Chorus proudly presents a concert of works by Florence Price and G.F. Handel, alongside Gershwin and Mahler.    Handel's Messiah was the favorite work of GVOC's founder, Sister Virginia Hogan, and we honor her with some Messiah selections interwoven among movements of Music for the Royal Fireworks.
 
In celebration of another important woman in music, GVOC is honored to present portions of Florence Price's Communion Service in F.  Florence Price has recently been getting the honor she deserved and her music is becoming more widely performed, but few know of her sacred music setting.  The organ at Two Saints from 1925 provides the sounds of Price's musical time period, perfect for supporting the voices.
