Join us on Sunday, April 16 at 1:00 PM for The Sicilian Vespers, Verdi's grand opera set in 1282 in Palermo, Sicily. It's the story of Arrigo, who is torn between his loyalty to Sicily (and his love, Elena) and to Monforte, the governor of France who reveals himself to be Arrigo's father. After Elena learns the governor is her lover's long-lost father, all of the conspirators face a terrible dilemma.
This recording is from Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Regio di Parma, 2012. Carol Crocca will introduce this opera that stars Italian baritone Leo Nucci, soprano Daniela Dessì.
Our new location for Beat the Blahs is Casa Italiana (at Nazareth College), 4245 East Ave. Enter through the lower door.
