Since it was first heard in 1994, Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus has captured the imagination of music lovers worldwide thanks to its unique combination of classical principles with the flavors of world and ethnic music. Adiemus, awarded 17 gold and platinum discs, receives its local premiere with the Rochester Oratorio Society Chorus and Orchestra, the Nazareth University Percussion Ensemble, the Roberts Wesleyan Chorale, and a Children’s Choir directed by Carina Telesca. Community charity partner: M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence.

Rochester Oratorio Society

The Rochester Oratorio Society, founded in 1945, an auditioned symphonic chorus, produces 4-6 performances per season of the highest quality, performs with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, collaborates frequently with the leading arts organizations in the region, and produces the annual international solo vocal competition, Rochester International Vocal Competition.
