The Greater Rochester Choral Consortium
AKOMA was founded in 1995, and embraces a musical ministry and spoken word that reflects our diverse faith traditions and love for gospel music. Our mission is to share the "good news" and to provide scholarships for college bound women of African American descent. There are over 21 Rochester area churches currently represented on AKOMA's 2024 roster of more that 30+ active sister-members.

For over 40 years, the Rochester Gay Men's Chorus has created social change through excellence in the choral arts, both in their three main-stage themed concerts per year and through their various outreach performances in the community.

The Rochester Jewish Chorale (RJC) is dedicated to perpetuating Jewish culture through musical performances, musical education and community service. Blending voices enables RJC members to inspire pride and sense of belonging that is identified with a Jewish heart and soul. Selections are from the Israeli, Chassidic, Middle Eastern and Diaspora traditions and include liturgical, folk and gospel that is performed in Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, Russian (and English). We’ve also done secular works by Jewish composers (e.g. Broadway).

The Rochester Oratorio Society, founded in 1945, an auditioned symphonic chorus, produces 4-6 performances per season of the highest quality, performs with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, collaborates frequently with the leading arts organizations in the region, and produces the annual international solo vocal competition, Rochester International Vocal Competition.

Rochester Rhapsody is women's a cappella chorus with a unique blend of 4-part harmony singing. The chorus captures the hearts and minds of listeners and singers alike through quality vocal performance, musical variety, education/personal growth opportunity and FUN! Rhapsody welcomes women singers of all ages to contact us about visiting a Monday evening rehearsals.

The RWCC is a non-profit, non-auditioned chorus dedicated to using music as the vehicle for messages of peace, hope, understanding, and cooperation within the global community. We were founded in 1978 as a women's chorus, and we welcome any singers who can sing in the treble range and are comfortable singing under the banner of the Rochester Women's Community Chorus.

Scivias serves to reimagine and rearrange medieval music for treble voices at a professional level. The ensemble is devoted to educating the Rochester community about the delightful sounds of music from the 11th to the 15th centuries.

A free, community-funded chorus open to all area singers. Membership is not limited to Victor residents. All styles of music are included from classical to standards to jazz. Kindness, support, and focused study result in reliably good outcomes and performances. We return the generosity of our municipal supporters by providing various free community concerts.
